TRAU 8053 - Foundations of Trauma Credit Hours: 3
This course offers a comprehensive introduction to the fundamental concepts and impacts of trauma. Students will explore the physiological, psychological, and emotional effects of trauma on individuals and communities. Topics include the nature and types of trauma including acute, chronic, and complex trauma as well as how trauma manifests across the lifespan. The course will also cover trauma responses and the long-term effects on mental and physical health.
Prerequisite: Graduate Degree in Mental Health Field Corequisite: None
