TRAU 8043 - Crises and Trauma Assessment Credit Hours: 3
This course provides an in-depth exploration of the assessment techniques and tools used in identifying and understanding trauma and crises in diverse populations. Students will examine various types of crises, such as personal, community, and large-scale disasters, and learn how to assess trauma in both immediate and long-term contexts. The course covers the assessment of acute stress reactions, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other trauma-related conditions, while considering the cultural, social, and developmental factors that influence trauma responses.
Prerequisite: Graduate degree in mental health field. Corequisite: None
