TRAU 8021 - Grief, Loss, and Trauma Credit Hours: 1
This course provides an exploration of the intersection between grief, loss, and trauma, focusing on how these experiences shape individuals’ mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Students will learn about the psychological processes of grief and loss, including mourning and bereavement, and how these experiences are compounded when trauma is involved. The course covers the various types of loss, from death and significant life changes to ambiguous and disenfranchised losses, as well as how trauma can affect grieving patterns.
Prerequisite: Graduate degree in a mental health field. Corequisite: None
