A broad overview of the history of the world to 1500, this course emphasizes long range trends and themes that connected humans across large geographic areas. The course focuses on humans’ transition from foraging to agriculture and the development of extensive exchange networks that linked world zones together. Emphasis on historical curiosity and writing historically-informed arguments.
