ENGL 4223 - The Semiotics of Story Credit Hours: 3
This course explores the power of narrative templates through the semiotic lens of signs, connections, and meaning. Students will be guided into a world of metaphor and symbolism as they analyze allegories, parables, fables, myths, legends, folk and fairy tales, and a broad selection of texts taken from diverse periods and cultures. The “story” of the class is a revelation of humans as both storytellers and story-doers.
