The goal of the Theatre program is to develop effective and creative communicators in the field of theatre by integrating traditional academic content with the knowledge and skills important to real world contexts.
Theatre Program Outcomes
Students who satisfactorily complete the major in Theatre will:
- develop the ability to observe, analyze, and reflect on human behavior through theory, production, and performance of theatre;
- develop critical thinking and problem-solving from multiple perspectives through the creation of theatre for diverse audiences;
- be prepared for a future in the field of theatre or communication arts (i.e., education, professional, noncommercial, and ministry).
Senior Comprehensive Exam
All seniors must pass the prescribed comprehensive examination or capstone project prior to or during their final semester of study. All education majors will complete the content area and education area comprehensive requirements as required by each major and area.

Requirements for the Bachelor of Art in Theatre
Theatre Major Requirements: 41 Hours
Emphasis Track (select 1): 12-16 Hours
Acting/Directing Track (12 Hours)
Musical Theatre Track (15-16 Hours)
Theatre Entrepreneurship Track (18-19 Hours)
