The Business Administration Major combines acore in business fundamentals with a management concentration. The core develops essential skills in accounting, economics, finance, marketing, business law, ethics, and strategic management. The management portion focuses on leadership development, organizational behavior, human resources, and data analytics. Students also choose electives in areas like accounting software, spreadsheets, or technology applications, along with additional credits in investments or experiential learning such as Enactus. This program prepares students for a wide range of leadership and managerial roles across business sectors.
Business Administration Program Outcomes:
Upon completion of the departmental course of study, the business administration graduate will be able to:
- Develop and demonstrate a personal philosophy that integrates Christian principles with ethical business conduct.
- Communicate effectively using appropriate methods and tools.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills and competencies in business content areas.
- Effectively use technology to enhance business processes and presentation.
- Demonstrate awareness, understanding, and, as appropriate, mastery of management and leadership theories and skills.
- Be prepared with the knowledge and skills necessary to enter or advance in a career in the field of business and/or pursue further education.
- Understand organizational business systems and how they integrate effectively.
Senior Comprehensive Exams
All Business majors must take the Peregrine exam, a national standardized test, administered to all students majoring in the ACBSP accredited program in the Fall semester of their senior year. All tests must be passed satisfactorily the first time or the specific area(s) of deficiency must be made up before graduation in consultation with the members of the School of Business and Digital Media faculty.
