The Finance major combines a Business Administration core with specialized finance coursework. The business core includes foundational studies in accounting, economics, management, marketing, business law, and strategic management. The finance core covers key topics such as intermediate accounting, financial statement analysis, investments, personal finance, and data analytics, along with hands-on tools like advanced spreadsheets. Students also choose between tax accounting and cost accounting to align with their interests. This program equips graduates with the analytical and technical skills necessary for careers in financial analysis, investment management, and corporate finance.
Finance Program Outcomes:
Upon completion of the departmental course of study, the finance graduate will be able to:

Senior Comprehensive Exams
All Business majors must take the Peregrine exam, a national standardized test, administered to all students majoring in the ACBSP accredited program in the Fall semester of their senior year. All tests must be passed satisfactorily the first time or the specific area(s) of deficiency must be made up before graduation in consultation with the members of the School of Business and Digital Media faculty.
