This Leadership and Management major focuses on foundational business, communication, and leadership principles, including courses in finance, ethics, management, strategic planning, and organizational behavior. Students then choose one of seven 17-18 hour tracks to specialize their leadership education: Business, Christian Education, Communication, Ministry, Intercultural Studies, Political Justice, Psychology, or Youth Ministry. Each track offers tailored coursework to align with specific vocational goals, from corporate management to ministry or public service. The program blends practical leadership development with academic and ethical training. Graduates are prepared for diverse leadership roles across business, nonprofit, ministry, or community-focused sectors.
Leadership and Management Program Outcomes:
Upon completion of the departmental course of study, the leadership and management graduate will be able to:
- Develop and demonstrate a personal philosophy that integrates Christian principles with ethical business conduct.
- Communicate effectively using appropriate methods and tools.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills and competencies in business content areas.
- Effectively use technology to enhance business processes and presentation.
- Demonstrate awareness, understanding, and, as appropriate, mastery of management and leadership theories and skills.
- Be prepared with the knowledge and skills necessary to enter or advance in a career in the field of business and/or pursue further education.
- Understand organizational and personal leadership theories and appropriate application.
Senior Comprehensive Exams
All Business majors must take the Peregrine exam, a national standardized test, administered to all students majoring in the ACBSP accredited program in the Fall semester of their senior year. All tests must be passed satisfactorily the first time or the specific area(s) of deficiency must be made up before graduation in consultation with the members of the School of Business and Digital Media faculty.
