BIOL 3813 - African Field Study Credit Hours: 3
An immersive experience in African field ecology and astronomy. Students will travel to Namibia in Southwest Africa to encounter critically endangered megafauna, learn conservation and active ecosystem management strategies, and organism interactions within tropical, desert, and grassland ecosystems. Additionally, having one of the lowest levels of light pollution in the world combined with an average 300 clear nights per year, Namibia is the ideal location for astronomical observations and discussions. The course includes a student designed research component.
Prerequisite: Permission of the instructor. Offered: Every 3rd Summer Modality: In-Person
