CRIM 4513 - The Death Penalty Credit Hours: 3
This course is an examination of the problems and issues related to the death penalty in the United States, including the history of capital punishment, important Supreme Court decisions, how the various jurisdictions deal with capital cases, the comparative costs of incarceration and execution, miscarriages of justice in capital cases, and how the criminal justice system responds to these issues. Moral, ethical, and religious viewpoints on the death penalty will also be explored.
