EDUC 4514 - Teaching And Learning III Credit Hours: 4
The goal of this course is to enhance the professional development practices of the teacher candidate, to develop “learning teachers” whose research, study, reflection, and application of effective instructional practices will enhance the learning environment in their learning communities. The course includes a 10 hour field-based experience. Teacher candidates research ways to provide communication and involvement of students’ families in the classroom and curriculum. The teacher candidate understands that individual student characteristics have an impact on education. Planning instruction involves the understanding of these characteristics in selecting instructional strategies, designing effective assessment, and use of technology. This course also provides opportunities to understand professional conduct to facilitate informed and ethical decisions in order to advocate for students and educational practices and procedures.
