The Kinesiology major at MNU provides students with a foundational knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the human body, how the human body produces movement, and how this movement contributes to health and well-being. This major combines courses from the areas of biology, chemistry, physics, health, biomechanics, and recreational spots to create a degree that prepares students for a variety of careers in allied health and/or recreational activities. This degree serves as pre-professional program of study for students who wish to pursue professional degrees in Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Chiropractic Medicine. Included within the curriculum are courses that prepare students for certification exams in both general Personal Training and Strength and Conditioning making this degree ideal for students who are interested in coaching, sports performance, recreation management, community fitness, health promotion, or public health. Students are encouraged to meet with their academic advisor to select the courses that meet their career goals. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that the prerequisites for their desired post-bachelor program of study are noted and taken.
