Kansas City University Partner Program for Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or Doctor of Dental Medicine

The MNU-KCU Partner Program will provide qualified students the opportunity to complete the baccalaureate degree and the doctor of osteopathic medicine or the docotor of dental medicine degree in seven (7) years instead of eight (8). Students spend three (3) years at MNU completing all the general education courses as well as prerequisite science courses and then transfer to KCU for four (4) years to complete degree requirements. Students will receive their bachelor’s degree from MNU following the successful completion of their first year at KCU.

Students selected into KCU through the Partner Program must meet the following criteria:

  1. Enter the Partner Program at MNU during the freshman year of undergraduate program.
  2. Have a minimum ACT score of 24.
  3. Participate in community service.
  4. Documentation of both high school and undergraduate activities.
  5. Desire to enter the field of osteopathic medicine or dental medicine.

Students must complete a minimum of 90 hours of coursework at MNU before matriculation into KCU.

In order to remain in the Partner Program and matriculate to KCU, students must maintain an overall GPA of 3.25 and a science coursework GPA of 3.5, both on a 4.0 point scale. Failure to maintain the required overall and science coursework GPA’s may disqualify the student from continuing in the Partner Program.

Students selected for KCU through the Partner Program must have taken and completed the following courses with a grade of “C” or higher at their undergraduate institution;

  • Biological Sciences - 12 hours
  • Chemistry - 13 hours
  • Biochemistry - 3 hours (in addition to the 13 hours of chemistry)
  • Physics - 8 hours
  • English Composition - 6 hours
  • Additional coursework in relevant tipics offered by MNU and agree to by KCU e.g., immunology, Anatomy, Physiology, Histology.
