Partnerships for Masters of Science In Athletic Training

Affliliation Agreement with Sterling College

Given the similarities of missions and values, MNU and Sterling College have created a partnership to provide two Kinesiology majors per year, automatic acceptance into their Masters of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) program. Students who complete their undergraduate degree at MNU and meet the following requirements are eligible for admission:

  1. Students must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade point average
  2. Students must complete the following courses with a grade of “C” or higher:
    1. First Aid/CPR (3hrs)
    2. Exercise Physiology (3hrs)
    3. Nutrition (3hrs)
    4. Kinesiology or Biomechanics (3hrs)
    5. Health - Essentials of Health or Personal and Community Health (3hrs)
    6. Psychology - General Psychology or Sport Psychology (3hrs)
    7. Medical Terminology (1-3hrs)
    8. Anatomy and Physiology (8-10hrs)
    9. Introduction to Biology (3-5hrs)
    10. Introduction to Chemistry (3-5hrs)
    11. Introduction to Physics (3-5hrs)
    12. Completion of full application process through ATCAS
  3. Documentation of 50 hours direct observation with a Certified Athletic Trainer
  4. Successful completion of an interview with the MSAT Admissions Committee (invitation only)

Full admission is contingent upon completion of required prerequisites that still may be in-progress.

Affiliation Agreement with The University of Saint Mary

MNU has partnered with the University of Saint Mary (USM) to provide two Kinesiology majors per year, automatic acceptance into the Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) program at USM. Students wishing to participate in this graduate-level program may be pre-admitted if the following criteria are met:

  1. Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  2. Students must complete the following prerequisite courses with a minimum “C” or better:
    1. Anatomy & Physiology I & II with Lab (8hrs)
    2. General Biology (3hrs)
    3. Introductory Psychology (3hrs)
    4. General Physics with Lab (4hrs)
  3. Students must complete 25 hours of observation under a Certified Athletic Trainer.
  4. Student must complete an interview with the MSAT Admissions Committee.
  5. Students must submit a complete application with all required materials.
