Partnerships for Doctorate of Physical Therapy

Affiliation Agreement with Southwest Baptist University

MNU has an affiliation agreement with Southwest Baptist University (SBU) for their Doctorate in Physical Therapy program (DPT). Given the similarity of missions and values, MNU students who complete the necessary DPT prerequisite courses, will be given preference points in the selection of candidates to MNU graduates and be eligible for the admission process.

Students must meet the following to be eligible for admission:

1. Student must have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA.
2. Students must complete the GRE.
3. Students must complete the PT application through PTCAS by the intended enrollment deadline.
4. Students must document up to 40 hours experience/observation in physical therapy.
5. Students must complete all of the following prerequisite courses with a minimum of “C” and a 3.25 prerequisite GPA:
   1. Anatomy & Physiology with Lab: 2 semesters; 8 credit hrs
   2. Biology: 1 semester; 4 credit hrs
   3. Chemistry with Lab: 2 semesters; 8 credit hrs
   4. Medical Terminology: 1 semester; 1 credit hr
   5. Physics with Lab: 2 semesters; 8 credit hrs
   6. Psychology: 1 semester; 2 credit hrs
   7. Statistics: 1 semester; 3 credit hrs

Affiliation Agreement with Rockhurst University

MNU has an affiliation agreement with Rockhurst University to offer two MNU students per year into the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program who meet the necessary criteria.

Students must meet the following to be eligible for admission:

1. Students must have a minimum overall and prerequisite and science course GPA of 3.5
2. Students must complete a successful interview with the Rockhurst Department of Physical Therapy
3. Students must complete the PT application through PTCAS by 10/1 the fall prior to matriculation
4. Students must submit three letters of recommendation
5. Students must complete a bachelor’s degree from MNU and submit a final official transcript
6. Students must complete all prerequisite courses as outlined on their university website by 12/25 the year prior to matriculation:

1. Anatomy & Physiology with Lab: 2 semesters; 8 credit hrs
2. Biology: 1 semester; 4 credit hrs
3. Chemistry with Lab: 2 semesters; 8 credit hrs
4. Exercise Physiology: 1 semester; 3 credit hrs
5. Public Speaking: 1 semester; 3 credit hrs
6. Physics with Lab: 2 semesters; 8 credit hrs
7. Psychology: 2 semesters; 6 credit hrs
8. Statistics: 1 semester; 3 credit hrs

Affiliation Agreement with University of Saint Mary

MNU has an affiliation agreement with University of Saint Mary (USM) to offer two MNU students per year, automatic acceptance into the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program who meet the necessary criteria.

Students must meet the following to be eligible for admission:

1. Students must have a minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA.
2. Students must score 145 or higher on the GRE in Quantitative Reasoning.
3. Students must score 145 or higher on the GRE in Verbal Reasoning.
4. Students must score 3.5 or higher on the GRE in Analytical Writing
5. Students must complete a bachelor’s degree from MNU.
6. Students must complete all prerequisite courses as outlined on their university website:

1. Anatomy & Physiology with Lab: 2 semesters; 8 credit hrs
2. Biology: 2 semesters; 6 credit hrs
3. Chemistry with Lab: 2 semesters; 8 credit hrs
4. Physics with Lab: 2 semesters; 8 credit hrs
5. Psychology: 2 semesters; 6 credit hrs
6. Statistics: 1 semester; 3 credit hrs

  7. Student must interview with program personnel for full admission.
