CHEM 4303 - Inorganic Chemistry Credit Hours: 3
This course provides an introduction to the properties and behavior of inorganic compounds, including metals, minerals, and organometallic compounds. Topics include concepts of periodicity, acid/base properties of monatomic and polyatomic ions in aqueous media, complex ion formation, solid-state ionic compounds and crystallography, trends in coordination equilibria, properties and reactivity of transition metal complexes, oxidation-reduction chemistry, symmetry, molecular orbital theory, and the modes of action of metallodrugs in medicinal inorganic chemistry.
