Business 4+1 Program

Location(s): On Campus

All MNU students with junior standing (56 hours) and a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better are eligible to participate in the 4+1 Program. This program allows students to take two graduate business courses that will apply toward an MNU MBA (Master of Business Administration) or MSM (Master of Science in Management) degree.

In some cases, these courses will substitute for specific courses required for the student’s undergraduate major. In those instances, the courses count as dual credit, accruing both undergraduate and graduate hours on the student’s transcript. (This applies primarily to those students who are pursuing business-related majors. However, the 4+1 program is open to all majors.)

Additionally, students in the 4+1 program take a one-hour course orienting them to graduate studies. Thus, they end up with six to seven hours of graduate credit, depending on the courses chosen.

Participation in the 4+1 program gives students a head start on completing a graduate business degree at MNU. Graduate business courses are offered in accelerated eight-week formats, both in person and online, across six terms per year. By taking two courses in some of these terms, it may be possible for students to complete an MBA or MSM degree within a 12-month period after graduation. To continue with their graduate business studies, a student would need to formally apply to Graduate Studies in Business (GSB) after obtaining their bachelor’s degree.

Students interested in the 4+1 program should contact their faculty advisor or the School of Business.
