Digital Communication (joint program), BA

Digital Communication is a joint program between the Department of Arts and Humanities and the School of Business. The curriculum includes courses that reflect both business information and practices as well as communication and related fields and requires students to pick a track that provides specialization in different areas of digital communication. The available tracks are:

  • Audio and Live Production
  • News Media
  • Film and Video Production
  • Sports Media
  • Management
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Programming

Students selecting sports media, management, entrepreneurship, or programming will be assigned an advisor in the School of Business. Students who select a track in audio and live production, news media, or film and video production will be advised by faculty in the Department of Arts and Humanities. 

Outcomes:

  1. Messages - Create, deliver, and evaluate strategic messages in oral, written, and digital form across diverse settings, platforms, and audiences.
  2. Digital competency - Demonstrate digital competencies and proficiency with professional software including video editing, basic animation and imaging, web development and design, and web advertising and analytics.
  3. Integration - Communicate and integrate ideas in today’s digitized world by combining theory with practical communication, graphic design, web/mobile programming, and marketing skills.
  4. Internship - Successfully complete an internship in the field of communication.
