CHEM 3211 - Organic Chemistry II Lab Credit Hours: 1
The organic chemistry lab sequence utilizes the REActivities curriculum. This second semester of the sequence focuses on applying the techniques learned in CHEM 3012 to performing and troubleshooting organic reactions. Reactions performed may include bromination of alkenes, elimination of alkyl halides, TEMPO oxidation, Wittig reaction, saponification of esters, and Aldol reaction. Heavy emphasis is placed on keeping a lab notebook, communicating results, putting together a formal presentation, and presenting a formal presentation to an audience.
Corequisite: CHEM 3213 .
